Abstract
708,371. Precombustion chambers. SOC. D'ETUDES DE MACHINES THERMIQUES. Dec. 28, 1951 [Feb. 22, 1951], No. 30340/51. Class 7(3) A precombustion chamber outlet nozzle device 9 with laterally disposed orifices 11 has a plug 13 disposed in the end thereof which bears on the nozzle body at a position above the orifices 11, the inner face of the body having, at least at its lower portion, a tapered shape. The plug 13 may close the end of the nozzle body and be held in position by a screwed nut 18, or it may screw directly into the closed end of the nozzle body. Ribs 15 on the plug 13 bear against the tapered part 10 of the body 9 above the orifices 11, thereby strengthening the nozzle device and forming separate flow passages 16, Fig. 2, to the orifices 11. The fuel jet is directed against the top of the plug 13.
