The mouth of a combustion chamber 1 formed as a body of revolution in the piston is provided with a recess 5 which intercepts fuel droplets dispersed upwardly from the feed jet injected on to the upper portion 3 of the chamber wall. The fuel may be injected as a cone or as individual jets.
