Abstract

538,065. Priming devices for starting. WEAVER, W. A. Jan. 29, 1940, No. 1732. [Class 7 (v)] A priming charge, or viscous heat-insulating and sealing fluid for the cylinder walls, is supplied in measured quantity to a holder 16 and ejected through a nozzle 7 into the engine cylinder by a piston working either in the holder 16 or in the body-part 1. In the latter case it is combined with the screwed plug which carries the needle-valve 12. The holder 16 is adjustably mounted on the body part ; when the valve 12 is opened the piston 16 forces the liquid through opening 18, 19, and past the flattened side 11 of the plug 18.
