Abstract

523,137. Oil engines. MEYNOL, L., and GARAUD. H. March 24, 1939, No. 9298. [Class 7 (iii)] A projection 7 on the piston enters the bore of a bushing 8 screwed into a passage leading to a combustion chamber 1, the bushing being formed with helical channels 3 which give a whirling movement to the air forced through them into the chamber 1. The projection 7 is constructed to enter into the interior of the chamber 1 at the end of the stroke. Fuel injected at 5 becomes ignited, and the gases are forced back through the channels 3 into the cylinder.
