[Class 7 (iii)] A spherical combus tion chamber b com municates with the en gine cylinder througl tangentially arrangec passages d which open out fan-wise from the combustion chamber. To facilitate starting, fuel is in jected through a nozzle f arranged in an extension of one of the passages d. Part of the combustion chamber is formed by a depression k in the piston and the lower part of the chamber b and the passages d are located in a member g which is provided with grooves h to limit the heat transference.
