380,692. Oil engines. LANG, F., 41, Laimerstrasse, Munich, Germany. Jan. 22, 1932, No. 2028. Convention date, Feb. 14, 1931. [Class 7 (iii).] A Diesel engine is provided with a cylinder head having a combustion chamber c into o which open a fuel injecting nozzle b and a pocket a approximately facing the nozzle and with air pockets d disposed about the circumference of the cylinder in such a manner that they receive no fuel from the nozzle. The air pockets around the cylinder are arranged in tiers adapted to be covered by the piston on the inward stroke and some or all of them may have external inlets e through which compressed air from an external source is forced during either the compression stroke or during combustion or both.
