Abstract
467,375. Oil engines. LANG, F. July 13, 1936, No. 19438. Convention date, Feb. 22. [Class 7 (iii)] In a compressionignition engine a fuel injector g and an air cell f are disposed at opposite sides of a combustion chamber d which is connected to the working cylinder by a passage entered by a projection b<1> on the piston b. The combustion chamber and the boss are heart-shaped, kidney-shaped, or 8- shaped in plan and a triangular or heart-shaped channel b<3>, increasing in depth from the air cell side to the injector side, extends across the projection b<1>. The air cell may be downwardly inclined or the top of the combustion chamber and the piston may slope upwards from the air cell side to the fuel-injector side. An incandescent heater o may be provided in the chamber d. Specification 387,556 is referred to.
