Abstract

378,120. Cylinders. BURTON, J., Craylands, Allesley, near Coventry. May 19, 1931, No. 14714. [Classes 7 (ii) and 7 (iii).] In a two-stroke cylinder having opposed inlet and exhaust ports 7, 5 a pocket 2 is formed by an extension of the cylinder head on the exhaust side. The bottom of the pocket may be directed upwardly, as shown, horizontally, or downwardly, and a socket is located at 6 for the sparking-plug or the liquid fuel injection valve.
