Abstract

515,452. Cylinders. AUTO UNION AKT.- GES., and VENEDIGER, H. J. June 2, 1938, No. 16566. [Class 7 (ii)] In a two-stroke engine cylinder having opposed groups of scavenging ports s<1>s<2>, and a pair of exhaust ports a<1>, a<2> arranged as described in Specification 478,959, all the scavenging currents enter the cylinder at substantially the same upward inclination. The invention is applicable to mixture or liquid fuel injection engines, and in the latter case the liquid fuel is preferably injected into the ports s<2> at the beginning of the compression stroke.
