Abstract

317,157. Cameron, W., and Cameron, J. G. May 31, 1928. Cylinders receiving liquid fuel.- In a two-stroke engine working with liquid-fuel injection, admission ports 3 for air arranged near the cylinder head, and exhaust ports 2 arranged at the other end of the cylinder, are controlled by the longitudinal edges of corresponding ports formed in a sleeve valve 4 having a combined oscillating and reciprocating motion. Fuel is injected into a spheroidal combustion space 13*. In a modification, Fig. V, the admission ports 3* are continued through an extension 13<b> of the cylinder head, and the piston is hollowed at 10<a> to form the combustion chamber.
