Abstract

Valves; valve-gear.-In a two-stroke engine, the admission to and delivery from the pump A is controlled by the piston end p of the reciprocating valve A<2>. The mixture is delivered to the chamber C in the valve and ignited therein, after the valve has put the chamber C in communication with the working cylinder A<1>. The valve port l controls the time of ignition. At the end of the expansion stroke, the lower piston end p<1> is above the ports o<1> and allows the exhaust to escape through the passage a<2>.
