Abstract

194,697. Hult, O. W. March 7, 1922, [Convention date]. Valve-gear.-In a two-stroke engine, compressed air is admitted to the combustion chamber through the valve L after the cylinder has been scavenged by air compressed in the crank case. The main exhaust outlet is through terminal ports G; there is an additional valve-controlled exhaust port, which is held open during the up-stroke of the piston, and while the compressed charge from the receiver is entering the combustion chamber. The valves I, L controlling the exhaust and charge inlet are worked from one cam, an extension M on the valve I striking the valve lever N. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 10425/03.
