Abstract

236,954. Lugt, G. J. July 11, 1924, [Convention date]. Two-stroke-cycle engines; pumps.- Scavenging-air is directed through the ports 5 by an osdilating vane 11 connected to the central portion of the connecting-rod 14. Engine reversal is provided for by a valve 17. As shown, the valve permits the air to the left of the vane 11 to be sent into the cylinder. When the valve is rotated in a counter-clockwise direction, the space to the left of the vane is put into communication with the atmosphere by way of the port 21, and the passage 15 is connected to the crank chamber; an air suction valve 16 is provided in the passage 15.
