Abstract

213,398. Laguesse, F. Feb. 27, 1923. Valves.-The inlet passage 12, 15 to the crank casing of a twostroke engine, and the transfer passage 11, 13, besides being controlled by the piston, are further controlled by a slide valve 8 formed with ports 9, 10. The piston is recessed at 16 for controlling the inlet port 15. The exhaust port 14 is arranged at the same level as the transfer port 13, the latter being closed by the slide valve when the former is uncovered by the piston on its downstroke. The slide valve also closes the inlet passage 12 when the piston commences its down-stroke.
