Abstract
617,663. Valves. LOCKETT, J. G. Oct. 11, 1946, No. 30463. [Classes 7 (ii) and 7 (vi)] In a two-stroke engine the admission of charge to, and transfer from, the crank-case is controlled by ports 18, 16 in the gudgeon pin. The Figure shows the position at transfer, the charge passing by passages 11, 4 in the piston and cylinder to ports 21, the exhaust having just taken place through piston-controlled ports below the ports 21. The charge is admitted by a pipe 22 and a converging passage 13 in the piston.
