Abstract

616,944. Four-stroke engines. SERY, C., and TOURNAIRE, M. Sept. 24, 1946, No. 28561. [Class 7 (ii)] A closed sleeve 2 reciprocates over a reciprocating piston 3, the impulse in the combustion chamber acting on both, and the sleeve and piston are connected to crank-shafts geared together at 2 to 1 ratio so as to produce a prolonged exhaust stroke. An aperture 7 provides communication with the valve chamber.
