181,975. Carbone, T. L. June 21 1921. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Two-stroke -cycle engines.-In a two-cylinder engine as shown, the annular pump space 6 communicates permanently with the crank chamber 9<1> of the adjacent cylinder x through passages 7, 8<1>. At the end of the outstroke of the piston 1 air is admitted to the crank chamber 9<1> and to the annular pump space 6 through a port 3 and a chamber 2 in the head of the piston, ports 4, 5 enabling the air to pass through the piston for cooling purposes. Similarly, air is admitted to the pump space 6<1> and to the crank chamber 9 through the port 3<1>. The compressed air is transferred to the combustion spaces through passages x<1>, y<1>.
