Two-stroke-cycle engines.-In diametricallyopposed-cylinders a n d radial-cylinder engines the pistons reciprocate over fixed partitions having slots through which the gudgeons pass. In the engine described, diametrically-opposed cylinders b have a fixed piston j mounted within the working piston c and the gudgeon l passes through slots k in the fixed piston. Combustible mixture admitted through a passage q and port p in the piston is compressed in the space r and transferred to the working space through ports g, i and a passage e. In radial-cylinder engines a common induction pipe may be provided.
