Abstract

292,358. St. Clair, C. L. June 27, 1927. Two-stroke-cycle engines; cylinders, cooling and admission pipes for.-In a, double-acting engine mixture is supplied by a blower 11 to a chamber 5 separated from a valve chamber 6 by a hand-controlled throttle valve 8. All the inlet valves 19 communicate with the chamber 6. Piston-controlled central exhaust ports are provided in each cylinder 1. The water jacket is divided into separate upper and lower sections each with its own supply and outlet pipes; the cylinder heads 16, 17 are also jacketed. The pistons are formed with spaced heads 23 connected by a sleeve 24 fast on the piston rod, the heads being recessed on their inner sides.
