Two - stroke - cycle engines; cylinders, arrangement and form of ports in. - In a twostroke-cycle engine cylinder, having crank-case compression, the transfer passage E is formed helically round the cylinder as shown, the two parts of the Figure being angularly-displaced longitudinal sections; the compressed mixture is admitted to the passage E by a piston port D2, which is opposite the exhaust port C, and to the cylinder by a port D, which slopes towards the cylinder head.
