Two-stroke-cyole engines; cylinders, pipes for; pumps.-Engines compressing in the crank case and having two pistons working in a common combustion chamber have the gas passages arranged to be without pockets so that lubricating oil cannot collect. With a four-cylinder engine, the admission pipe P from the carburettor is formed in the cylinder block and without any pockets, the outlet from the pipe being controlled by the skirts of the lower pistons. The mixture flows from the crank case in an upward direction to the transfer passages G, the lower pistons controlling the exhaust ports M.
