Abstract
195,902. North British Diesel Engine Works (1922), Ltd., and Maclagan, J. C. M. July 13, 1922. Two-stroke engines; cylinders, pipes for.-In double-acting engines of the type described in Specification 173,145, and in which the cylinder has a reciprocating movement, the exhaust manifold 10 for the upper end of the cylinder is formed with a depending pipe 11 which makes connection, through a stuffing-box 12 permitting expansion, with the lower exhaust manifold 13, which also has a depending pipe 14 arranged to slide between packing-rings on a fixed manifold 15. A similar arrangement may be fitted to the scavenging ports.
