Four-stroke-cycle engines. - A six-cylinder engine has three cylinders d, e, f, Fig. 1, located in one plane with their pistons connected to a crank x, the remaining cylinders a, b, c being mounted in a parallel plane with their pistons connected to a crank y at 180 degrees. In front elevation, adjacent cylinder axes are inclined at 30 degrees. The order of firing the cylinders is b, f, c, a, e, d.
