Abstract
173,145. North British Diesel Engine Works, Ltd., and Maclagan, J. C. M. Nov. 25, 1920. Two-stroke-cycle engines.-In engines in which the cylinder B reciprocates over fixed combustion heads C, the inlet and exhaust ports E, G are connected to stationarv manifolds E<2>, G<2> by pipes moving with the cylinder and sliding in extensions in the fixed manifolds. The fixed combustion heads control the inlet ports and the piston A the terminal exhaust ports. The engine shown is double acting, the cylinder being reciprocated through linkage from a lay shaft J. As applied to a singleacting engine the cylinder is reciprocated through linkage driven from the main connecting-rod.
