Cylinders receiving liquid fuel. - In a twostroke cycle and preferably double-acting engine, combustion chambers A formed integrally, in the case of a double-acting engine, with the cylinder D and with the cylinder cover C respectively are arranged obliquely in relation to the cylinder and are provided with scavenging-air valves B at their outer extremities. Fuel valves L open into the chambers A at an angle to the valves B. The part H of the cylinder jacket is integral with the cylinder D.
