[Class 7 (ii).] In a multicylinder twostroke engine having piston-controlled exhaust ports b, the cylinder liners a are integral with flanges d which flare from the ports and form a continuous exhaust chamber. The casting, thus formed, can be removed as a unit from the housing i, which, with flared closure members k, and plates g forms the water jacket. The plates g are shrunk on the liners ; alternatively, gland fittings may be employed.
