[Class 7 (ii)] In the cylinder of a two-stroke engine, having uniflow scaveng ing, the passages behind, op posed inlet ports 4, 5 are arranged not only slightly tangential, but also so that one, 4, is directed towards the cylinder head and the other, 5, is transverse to the cylinder axis. They may be tan gential to a different extent.
