[Class 7 (ii)] In a uniflow scavenged two-stroke engine cylinder, piston-controlled admission ports A, B alternate in twc or more overlapping rows; they may be arranged so that the circular edge of the piston commences to open them simultaneously, or in succession as shown, the opening being completed in succession in either case. They may overlap transversely, being made, for example, triangular. Some or all may be tangential or radial, or individual ports may change gradually or suddenly from one form to the other.
