Abstract
350,765. Two - stroke engines. SCHAUER, P., 50, Potsdamerstrasse, Zehlendorf, Berlin. July 10, 1930, No. 20945. [Class 7 (ii).] The engine comprises two cylinders of different diameters with a communicating passage 3 between them, this passage being of smaller cross section than the bore of the larger cylinder. The piston 1 in the larger cylinder controls the admission of mixture from the crank case ; the exhaust passes out through ports 14 in the smaller cylinder. The two cylinders may be in line, parallel to one another or inclined as shown; in the latter case the larger piston has a recess 22 into which the smaller piston in part enters at the bottom dead centre. Cylinders.-The mixture admission ports 8a, 8b are formed in a ring 7 housed in a recess in the larger cylinder. The ring is held in place by a detachable cover 10, and may be turned in the recess to vary the number of ports through which the mixture may pass.
