Regulating.-In an engine in which rich mixture is drawn into and compressed in a pump cylinder 12 by a piston 11, the compressed mixture is ignited and injected into a charge of air, or air and fuel, in the cylinder 19 through a passage 9 and a duct in a plug 2, the cross-section of which may be varied by changing the plug or by providing a manually-adjustable needle valve therein.
