[Class 7 (iii)] In an engine having a combustion chamber 3 formed in the piston, which communicates with the engine cylinder through a restricted opening 5, fuel is injected into the chamber through a ring-shaped slot at the outlet of a fuel injector 7. The nozzle may be closed by a spring-pressed disc valve 11.
