Abstract
487,454. Oil engines. AUTO UNION AKT.-GES. May 5, 1937, No. 12875. Convention date, May 5, 1936. [Class 7 (iii)] Fuel is injected through a nozzle 7 into a pre-combustion chamber 2 which is connected through narrow orifices 11 with a chamber 4 in which the air, entering from the cylinder, rotates. The pre-combustion chamber 2 is formed in an insertion 6 screwed on to the nozzle 7. The insertion may have a conical end 10 which projects into an annular chamber 4 when the engine piston is at the end of the compression stroke or the insertion may have a cylindrical end and be 'arranged centrally in an annular chamber in the cylinder head.
