Abstract
501,237. Oil engines. LANG, F. April 29, 1938, No. 12893. Convention date, Oct. 6, 1937. [Class 7 (iii)] A fuel nozzle g and an air cell h open at diametrically opposite points into a combustion chamber d of circular cross-section disposed at one side of the cylinder axis. The chamber contains a main or auxiliary air inlet valve e<1> and an exhaust valve and an auxiliary or main inlet valve e are arranged over the cylinder. The injector and air cell may be arranged at right-angles to the cylinder axis or, as shown, the air cell may be parallel to the cylinder axis and open approximately level with the valve seating in the chamber which may contain a starting igniter and may open into the cylinder through a narrow passage.
