507,831. Oil engines. LANG, F. Nov. 10, 1938, No. 32740. Convention date, Nov. 25, 1937. [Class 7 (iii)] In a Diesel engine having a fuel nozzle g and an air cell h disposed on opposite sides of a combustion chamber d, the axis of the air cell orifice is directed towards the centre of the chamber, whilst the axis of the fuel nozzle is directed towards the air cell orifice. An inlet valve is arranged in the combustion chamber and an exhaust valve f in the cylinder head. In an 8-shaped combustion chamber, each compartment of the chamber is provided with an air cell h and a fuel nozzle g, and the piston may be provided with a projecting boss which enters the chamber and has a transverse trough b<3> into which the nozzles and air cells discharge. The nozzles and air cells may be adjacent to or remote from the junction of the two compartments of the combustion chamber. Specitications 283,797, [Class 7 (iii)], and 362,146 are referred to.
