[Class 7 (iii)] The stream of fuel issuing from the outlet of a precombustion chamber flows through the combustion chamber towards the opening or openings of an air accumulator. The precombustion chamber and the air accumulator may be arranged in the cylinder head symmetrically with respect to the cylinder axis, and at an inclination thereto, and the jet of fuel issuing from the precombustion chamber is directed by reflection from the end of the piston, towards the air accumulator. In the construction shown in Fig. 2, the precombustion chamber a is arranged in the head at one end of the combustion chamber c, which is formed by a channel in the piston e and flares towards the air accumulator b. In another form, the precombustion chamber is arranged centrally in the cylinder head and has four outlets opening into sectors cut in the piston, the sectors having air accumulators arranged at all or some of their ends. In the construction shown in Fig. 6, a central precombustion chamber a is provided, and three air accumulators b<1>, b<2>, b<3>, and the combustion chamber is formed by three 8-shaped depressions in the piston head, into the circular halves of which the precombustion chamber and the air accumulator discharge tangentially. In further modifications, (1) circular combustion chambers located on one side of the line of discharge of the air accumulators are used instead of 8-shaped combustion chambers, (2) the air accumulator is arranged in the piston, or (3) several precombustion chambers are provided which co-operate jointly with one or several air accumulators.
