Abstract
509,098. Oil engines. GULDNER MOTOREN - WERKE ZWEIGNIEDER - LASSUNG DER GES. FUR LINDE'S EISMASCHINEN AKT.-GES. Sept. 9, 1938, No. 26426. Convention date, Oct. 1, 1937. [Class 7 (iii)] In a Diesel engine having a cooled combustion chamber 1 connected to the cylinder space by a tangential passage 2, the air forced through the passage intersects the fuel jet 5 only at the end remote from the nozzle, and the passage is of such an elongated cross-section that the air entering the chamber and the fuel pass through each other over their entire width. The fuel jet may pass horizontally across the part of the chamber nearest the passage, and the chamber may be of restricted discoidal shape.
