Abstract
451,928. Exhaust systems. KADENACY, M., 120, Rue Lecourbe, Paris. Nov. 8, 1934, No. 32202. [Class 7 (ii)] In a two-stroke engine, in which the mass exit of the exhaust gas from the cylinder is used to induce a fresh charge, and in which the inlet ports 5 are not opened until this mass exit occurs, the exhaust system allows free outward motion of the gas, but tends to byepass any return into a chamber 8. The exhaust preferably flows through a nozzle 10, concentric with the chamber 8 and having half the area of the annular communicating passage. The chamber may have torroid form. A deflector body comprising two cones with their bases in contact may be located in front of the nozzle. Specifications 431,856, 431,857, and 433,502 are referred to.
