Abstract
298,128. Akt.-Ges. Brown, Boveri, et Cie. Oct. 3, 1927, [Convention date]. Pumps, actuating : four - stroke - c y c l c engines. - In engines wherein a charging compressor is driven by an exhaust - actuated turbine, the delivered air is divided into two parts, one flowing through the pipe 9 being used for scavenging, the other flowing through the carburettor 5 to form rich mixture. The outlets from the pipe 9 and carburettor 5 are either controlled by a flap 8 as shown, or by a beat valve with two seatings. The usual inlet and exhaust valves 3, 4 are provided. The supply of scavenging air cools the exhaust of the engine for use in the turbine.
