Abstract

245,767. Soc. Anon. J. Cockerill. Jan. 6, 1925, [Convention date]. Valves; regulating. -A slide valve M, moving together with a main inlet valve L, controls the admission of compressed air by means of ports b<1>, of atmospheric air through ports Q, and of gas through ports U, the arrangement being such that the compressed air is admitted before the gas and atmospheric air for scavenging during downward movement of the valve, and after the admission of gas and atmospheric air for supercharging on the upward movement of the valve. A valve N, also having three corresponding ports b, a, and g, is moved by the governor within the valve L so as to vary the openings of the inlet ports. The valve M is formed at its upper end with a conical portion bearing on a seating on the casing.
