Abstract

183,852. Babin, J. July 30, 1921, [Convention date]. Valves; regulating.-In a two-stroke engine in which highly compressed air is admitted, with liquid or gaseous fuel, to the cylinder and burns at constant pressure during the power stroke, the exhaust gases being compressed on the return stroke, the air charge is divided, one portion entering the cylinder 21 through a passage 24 and through an annular port 25 controlled by an annular valve 26, and the other portion entering through a passage 27 and a mechanically-actuated valve 30. The engine may be regulated by varying the period of admission of fuel and air and the quantity of each used.
