Abstract

286,670. Jalbert, J. H. March 8, 1927, [Convention date]. Liquid fuel and a gaseous medium, preparing mixtures of, in pumps; cylinders receiving liquid fuel. -A rich mixture, formed by liquid fuel issuing from a nozzle 14 into a stream of air or exhaust gas drawn, past a non- return valve 12, into a chamber 3 by a plunger 4, driven by the engine, is diluted with air or exhaust gas when the plunger uncovers a port 16 and forced into the cylinder, through a non-return valve 6, on the return stroke of the plunger 4. Valves 17, 18, 19 are provided to regulate the supplies of liquid fuel and air or exhaust gas, and the face of the valve 6 forms with its seating a passage 8 through which the rich mixture passes, which is then heated. The Specification as open to inspection. under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also an engine-driven valve in place of the valve 12. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
