Spray carburettors.-In a two-stroke-cyole engine in which combustible mixture is delivered by a cam-actuated pump 8 through valves 20, 22 and a pipe 21 to the cylinder, and air is compressed in the crank chamber, a carburetting- apparatus comprising an exhaust-heated pipe 17 containing a fuel-nozzle 19 may be connected either to the inlet pipe 18 of the pump or between the pump and the engine. In a further modification the pump may deliver air into a reservoir and thence through a cam-actuated valve to the carburettor or to a pipe into which the deliverypipe from the carburettor projects in the manner of an injector nozzle.
