[Class 7 (iii).] In a Diesel engine in which liquid fuel from a nozzle f is sprayed upon a grating b arrangec between an air-storage vessel e and the combustion chamber c, the grating is made concave toward the combustion chamber. As shown, the shape of the grating is a segment of a sphere The air-storage vessel may be arranged on the piston or on the cylinder. A cover k which closes the air-storage vessel may receive an ignition tube l to heat the chamber at starting.
