Abstract
225,258. Olsen Engine Syndicate, Ltd., and Olsen, S. D. July 30, 1923. Cylinders receiving liquid fuel.-Fuel enters a pump chamber x through a port a<2> and an annular groove a<3> and is injected into the cylinder through a passage g together with air which has previously been transferred to the chamber x from the working cylinder. The plunger c is spring-actuated on its forcing stroke, and is retracted bv a cam. The injection passage g is coned at g<1> and communicates with fuel passages h arranged so that the fuel is sprayed by the air both as it enters and leaves the chamber x. The whole device is adapted to be fixed as a self contained element or unit into the wall of the engine cylinder.
