Class 122(i) [Also in Groups XXVII and XXVIII] In a fuel-injection apparatus for an internal-combustion engine e (see Group XXVIII), the injection pump is actuated by a piston 8 subjected to the pressure in the engine cylinder. Fuel under pressure is supplied to the pump and also to the space 52 surrounding the cylinder of the piston 8 for cooling purposes and for additional cooling the lower part of the piston 8 serves as a pump for drawing a part of the fuel through the inlet valve 87 and forcing it through the delivery valve 90. Specification 651,483, [Group XXVII], is referred to.
