665,325. Cooling fuel injectors. BRYCE FUEL INJECTION, Ltd., and GREEN, G. R. July 6, 1950 [July 6, 1949], No. 17869/49. Class 7(iii) [Also in Group XXVIII] A fuel injector A is cooled by fuel supplied by a low pressure pump B through a passage D, cooling passages in the injector A, and a passage E to a fuel injection pump F, a byepass valve 2 connected by a link 8 to the engine governor or hand control being operated to byepass the fuel from pump B back to tank C through a pipe 7 if abnormal running conditions develope. e.g. if the injection valve sticks in the open position. The spill port of the pump F is connected to the tank C by a pipe G, and a non-return valve V in the pipe D closes during the injection strokes of pump F.
