Abstract
801,667. Fuel injection pumps. C.A.V., Ltd. March 11, 1957 [Jan. 2, 1956], No. 22/56. Class 102(1). A reciprocating and rotating cylinder d has inlet ports e co-operating with ports # in communication with a fuel inlet chamber b, and an outlet port g co-operating with ports h connected to the engine cylinders. An axially fixed piston j is located in one end of the cylinder and in the other end there is a plug s which remains stationary until engaged by the end of the cylinder formed by a gear wheel m which in addition has a cam surface o co-operating with a roller p. The relative position of the plug s to the end of the cylinder comprising the wheel m, i.e., the idle movement of the cylinder before engaging the plug to start delivery, is adjusted by means of a pin t and cam u.
