Abstract
380,934. Oil engines. LEYLAND MOTORS, Ltd. and BIGGAR, P. E., Motor Works, Hough Lane, Leyland, Lancashire. Sept. 19, 1931, No. 26290. [Class 7 (iii).] The combustion chamber is formed by an offset inverted conical depression 2 in the piston head and the fuel is injected into a whirling air charge, obtained by screening a valve 5, by an offset nozzle 4 which injects the fuel parallel to a generator of the cone. The nozzle 4 may be placed in an inclined position in the cylinder head.
