Abstract

116,232. Jones, G. H. Jan. 3, 1918 Spray carburettors.-The flow of fuel from the nozzle orifice G is varied, independently of control means such as a needle valve 0 with which the nozzle may be provided, by varying the pressure which exists in the chamber C' above the nozzle orifice. This is effected by a rotary plug or other form of valve E which may be adjusted manually to place the chamber C' in communication with the atmosphere through conduit A, with the induction pipe near its most constricted part by a conduit B, or with both, or, for starting purposes, with neither. The needle valve 0 is carried by a manually actuated piston throttle valve K which controls the passage L, P into which the fuel is discharged through a conduit C<2>.
