Abstract

17,374. Pons, V. July 22. Spray carburettors.-In a carburettor with a movable sprayer of the kind described in Specifications 13,419/13 and 12,015/14, the fuel is delivered into a calm rarefied zone produced above the sprayer disk by dispensing with all obstructions between the sprayer and induction pipe. The sprayer tube 25 actuated by the fork 30 slides over the fuel tube 18 and contains several fuel orifices 28. The disk 24 directs the air stream so as to leave a calm zone at d. The fuel supply is controlled by a hand-actuated valve 19 and by a valve 32 attached to a piston 31, which is lifted by the suction of the engine during running. Fuel reaches the v a l v e 32 under pressure from a float chamber 42. The sectional areas s of the induction pipe 40, sprayer disk 24, and air ports 22 are equal, each being preferably one-half the area of the mixing- chamber 27.
